Frontier Hospice Celebrates National Volunteer Week!

National Volunteer Week is April 6-13, 2014. Frontier Hospice celebrates their volunteers who fulfill a special role in our hospice patient’s plan of care.
Bill, a long-standing hospice volunteer, recounts why he volunteers. “I enjoy volunteering because I meet outstanding people among my fellow volunteers. Volunteers are nearly always dedicated, outgoing individuals willing to give of their time and talents to improve this life on earth. Volunteering gives me a feeling of personal fulfillment that I don’t get any other way. I am able to develop and maintain skills that might not otherwise be required.”
Our hospice volunteers offer irreplaceable support and care to our hospice patients and their families from reading to patients, listening to their stories, going for walks, to playing games. Volunteers also provide assistance to our hospice agency by delivering patient supplies and helping with special projects. In return hospice volunteers find the experience very rewarding.
“In my eyes, hospice is invaluable. Sharing with those in need at a very special time in their lives. I became involved as a way for me to give back to those who shared with me and my family,” stated Clare, hospice volunteer whose parent received hospice services prior to her becoming a hospice volunteer.
If you are looking for a way to give back to your community and make a positive difference in someone’s life, Frontier Hospice is seeking volunteers to fulfill this special role when quality of life matters most. Becoming a hospice volunteer may provide equal benefit to you as it does for the patient and their families. To learn more about how to become a hospice volunteer, call Marshauna Mortensen,Volunteer Coordinator, at 406-755-4923.
